  • Metronidazole is a synthetic antibacterial and antiprotazoal agent used in treating giardiasis, trichomoniasis, amoebiasis, balantidiasis and trypanosomiasis.

  • Milbemycin oxime is used to prevent heartworm and for the control of hookworms and roundworms. This medication may be used for other conditions as determined by your veterinarian.

  • Misoprostol is used to treat or prevent stomach ulcers, especially when they may be caused or aggravated by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Misoprostol helps the stomach protect itself against acid damage. It also decreases the amount of gastric acid produced by the stomach. This medication may be used for other conditions as determined by your veterinarian.

  • Mitotane is primarily used to treat Cushing’s disease in dogs. It has also been used to treat adrenal tumors. Mitotane reduces the amount of cortisone-like hormones produced by the adrenal cortex. These steroids are important for various body functions; however excessive levels of these hormones can cause problems.

  • Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent used to relieve pain and to relieve the symptoms of arthritis (e.g. reduce inflammation, stiffness, and joint pain).

  • This triple antibiotic solution or ointment is used to treat surface bacterial infections of the eye. These infections may occur in the cornea (clear part of eye) or in the conjunctiva (pink parts around eyelids).

  • Neomycin sulfate is an antibiotic. It is used to reduce the number of bacteria in the colon (a part of the intestine) prior to surgery. It may also be used to decrease the numbers of ammonia producing bacteria in the treatment of brain disorders caused by the liver not working properly (a condition called hepatic encephalopathy).

  • Niacinamide is often used with tetracycline to treat discoid lupus erythematosus in dogs. It may be prescribed for other conditions as well. One to 2 months of therapy may be required before efficacy is noted.

  • Nitenpyram is used to treat flea infestations on dogs, puppies, cats and kittens older than 4 weeks of age and greater than 1 kg (2.2 lbs) in body weight. This medication kills adult fleas. It is not effective against flea eggs. Nitenpyram may be combined with other medications as part of a comprehensive flea-control program.

  • Nystatin is an antifungal antibiotic. It is used to treat oral or gastrointestinal tract infections. It can also be used to treat Candida skin infections.
